Dr. Seema Mahlawat

Ph.D Botany  |  IIT Madras Post-Doctoral Researcher

Dr. Seema holds a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and completed post-doctoral research at IIT Madras on the antibacterial and antioxidant properties of medicinal plants. With over two decades in ethnobotanical and pharmacognostical research and university teaching — including at the Department of Bio & Nano Technology, GJU S&T, Hisar, and currently the Department of Botany, Pandit NRS Government College, Rohtak — she leads PRAN's scientific and research functions, grounding the organisation's public health, consumer product-safety, and rural livelihoods work in empirical evidence. Her work underpins PRAN's "Law + Science" model, translating complex evidence into legally defensible, policy-relevant research that drives systemic change.
